A resident of Baton Rouge, Louise Kees Humphries passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, at Ollie Steele Burden Hospice Care. She was 96 and a native of Olla. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, March 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at Florida Boulevard Baptist Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. Randy Johnson. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her son, Bennett Humphries and his wife, Pat, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Steve and his wife, Melanie Humphries, Michael Humphries, Baton Rouge, and Lauren Humphries Martin and her husband, Dan, of Gilbert, S.C.; five great-granddaughters, Crystal H. Palermo, Lindsay Humphries and Rachel, Erica and Hannah Louise Martin; great-great-granddaughter, Hailey Marie Humphries; sister, Barbara Kees York and her husband, Phil, of Pineville; brother, Jimmie Kees, of Urania; several nieces and nephews; and a good friend and care giver, Pasty Blunt. Preceded in death by her husband, Bruce B. Humphries Sr.; father and mother, Frank and Ida Kees; stepmother, Ruth Kees; brothers and sisters, Frank Kees Jr., Audie Hinton, Boyce Keller, Cliffie Kees and Doris Taylor. She was a member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Florida Boulevard Baptist Church Missions.
