Roger Fisher Fitzhugh, 80, of Springfield died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at his residence. He was born Dec. 16, 1913, in Loami, the son of Eldon and Maud Fisher Fitzhugh. He married Alice Rouland in 1943 in St. Charles. Mo. Preceding him in death were an infant daughter, Karen Fitzhugh; and brother, John Fitzhugh.

Mr. Fitzhugh retired from First National Bank after 35 years. He was a member of Elks Lodge, Blue Ridge Club and VFW Post 32 and former member of Land of Lincoln Chorus. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the campaigns of Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded three overseas service bars, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater ribbon with four bronze battle stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Surviving are his wife, Alice; son and two daughters; a grandson; two sisters, Alberta Highland and Marcella Fitzhugh, both of Carmel, Ind.

Services: Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
