Mrs. Lee A. Lasyone, 72, died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, May 2, in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. She lived near Verda on Rt. 1, Atlanta, and was a native of Grand [sic Grant] Parish.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Iatt Baptist Church of which Mrs. Lasyone was a member. Reverends Deloy Shows, Clarence Brooks and Rev. Allen, former pastor of the church, officiated at the services. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Lasyone's body lay in state at the funeral home until 10 a.m. Sunday, when it was moved to the residence near Verda.

She is survived by her husband, Lee A. Lasyone; four sons, J. D., of Montgomery; Elwood of Rt. 1, Atlanta; Earl L., of Dry Prong; and T/Sgt Arlon Lasyone of Lackland AFB, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Willie E. Lowe, Montgomery, Mrs Murphy Foster, Winnfield, Mrs. James McKay of Pollock, and Mrs. Kenneth Simmons of DeVille; six sisters, Mrs. Bill Townsend and Mrs. Lucy Hawthorne, both of Georgetown, Mrs. Lou Lovell of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Nettie Tingle of Natchitoches, and Mrs. Bill Cox of New Verda; 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
