WELL KNOWN WOMAN DIES -
Mrs. Mattie L. Bailey, beloved Decatur woman, died at 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon at her home, 819 Oak Street after an illness of several months. Mrs. Bailey was the widow of the late Judge J.W. Bailey. She was in her 71st year.
Funeral rites were conducted at First Methodist Church at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon by Rev. D.C. McNutt, the pastor and burial in City Cemetery was directed by Brown.
Pallbearers were: Floyd Barnes, Harry Pointer, Jack Coolidge, Claude Trimble, A.S. Childs and Hartwell Davis.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W.E. Curry; three sons, Walter, Herman and Edgar Bailey, all of Decatur.
Mrs. Bailey had been a resident of Decatur for many years and was one of the city's best known women.
