(Wadley) Funeral services for Jessie Calvin Taylor, 65, of Route 1, Wadley, were Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1994, at 3 p.m. from Forrester's Chapel, with Revs. Gordon Taylor and Kenneth Perry (error, E.G. Clark) officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Taylor died Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham.

A former resident of Rock Mills, Mr. Taylor was a Randolph County native, born Nov. 13, 1927, son of Johnny and Mae Barfield Taylor. He was a self-employed pulpwooder and a member of Corinth Christian Church. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart. His father, the Rev. Johnny Taylor, and two brothers, Bonner Taylor and Vester Taylor, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean Kellum Taylor of Wadley; his mother, Mrs. Mae Barfield Taylor of Wadley; a sister, Mrs. Joyce Nixon of Wadley; and three brothers, R.V. Taylor of Wadley, John D. Taylor of Valley and Grant Taylor of Roanoke.

Pallbearers were Fred Railey, Bob Stapler, Bruce Albright, Doug Bennett, Junior Lacy and Doug Bailey. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Taylor, Bob Taylor, Scott Nixon, Phillip Nixon and Chad Nixon.

Quattlebaum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
