The Edgewood Cemetery office has Benjamin's age at death as 93 years making his "calculated" year of birth as 1758.

Perpetual care payment was secured by Mr. George Scott, who died in 1902. Benjamin Abbott was the drummer at the execution of Major Andre. Mr. Scott was not a relative but he felt strongly that the graves of Revolutionary patriots should be always honored.
