John D. Hedglin, passed away Saturday night at 9 o'clock at the home of his foster daughter, Mrs. Ernest H. Ruge, 324 West Thirteenth street. He had suffered from a long illness, death resulting from fever. Mr. Hedglin lived in Grand Island for the last year, coming here from St. Paul where he lived for 18 years. He was an old soldier, a member of Co. I, of the Ninth Illinois cavalry. Mr. Hedglin lived to be 70 years, 5 months and 22 days old. He has a number of sisters and brothers who reside in Howard county. The remains will be taken to St. Paul, where the funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from the First M. E. church.
