Funeral services will be in the Brundage Chapel Friday at 2 for John Hand, 75, miner and hand operator of the Hand Mines in Argenta near Dillon.

He died suddenly in his home in Argenta Monday evening. He was born August 30, 1895 in Wise River. He lived in Butte, Rocker, Ramsey, Glen and finally in Argenta during his lifetime. He was married April 11, 1917 in Glen in Ida B. Hardwig. she died in December of 1967.

He was a member of the sportsman's association, treasurer of the southwestern Montana Mining Association and member of the Southwestern Montana Cattle Association. He was also a member of the American Institute of Mining engineers.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Hand of Dillon and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hand of Helena; sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Hunt of Clancy, Mr. and Mrs. Lee James of Polaris and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Shafer of Dillon; sisters, Susan of Sheridan and Mrs. Lara Kalsta of Glen; brother, Rock of Helena, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
