Oscar was quite the ladies man, as he wrote to several ladies during his early years. He begain to speak quite often of "Miss May" Baker, and sometime in the late 1900's married "Miss May". To that union one son, Nelson, was born.
Oscar recieved his B.S. from Arkansas Teacher's College in Conway, AR in 1929.
Sometime in 1947 Oscar developed stomach cancer. In his last weeks of life he wrote letters to May from the hospital in Little Rock, telling her of the pain he was in and wishing that it would "all be over soon." It was very moving to read Oscar's writings and feelings as he faced death.
I feel quite priviledeged to be able to read the many personal thoughts Oscar has written, and will update this site as I learn more about this wonderful man.
