Sp/o Mary Ann Brodrick; s/o Garret and Cornelia (Dingman) Brodhead.

From Daily Record obit dated June 5, 1905:
"Daniel D. Brodhead, one of the oldest and most respected residents of Wilkes-Barre, died at the home of his son, H.C. Brodhead, of 132 Park Ave, on Saturday, at the age of nearly 87 yrs. The cause of death was heart trouble. Daniel Dingman Brodhead was born 9/6/1818 at the family residence on the west bank of the Delaware River, south of Milford, PA in what was then Northampton Co. The old home is still in perfect preservation and is the summer home of RP Brodhead of Kingston....(attracted by coal field development activities) Daniel D. Brodhead bid adieu to the old home and settled in Carbon Co. in 1841. Some years later he married Miss Mary Brodrick, a sister of the late Thomas Brodrick of this city. In 1853 he removed to Philadelphia where he founded several commercial houses on Third Street, and for 25 yrs pursued the mercantile activities incident to such environment. Later he returned to Wyoming Valley where his sons were identified with mining enterprises, and since 1896 has been a resident of this city. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and the following children: Henry C. Brodhead of this city, Daniel D. Brodhead of NY, Robert S. Brodhead of Philadelphia, Albert G. Brodhead of Denver, Mrs Emily Brodhead Honeyman of Brooklyn. His brother, Andrew J. Brodhead, of Flemington, NJ, also survives him..."

Preceded in death by children Elizabeth Brodrick Brodhead (died in infancy), Major William Hall Brodhead (1857-1895), and Alice Davis Brodhead (1864-1867).
