TOWNSEND, Horace G., 67, of Manchester, died April 23, 1995 following a brief illness at Medical Center of Manchester. A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Frank P. Townsend and Ruby Lois Basham Townsend, Manchester. He was a retired Service Foreman of 36 years with Elk River Public Utility, a member of American Legion, Current Member Manchester Water and Sewer Commission, member of the Fidels Sunday School Class, a member of the First Baptist Church, Manchester, and served from 1951 to 1955 in the U. S. Air Force. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Anna Belle Richardson Townsend, Manchester, one sister, Lois Luckie, Milwaukee, Wisc., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, April 26, 1995 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Dr. Brenton Cox and Dr. Kenneth Hubbard officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Coffee County, Tenn. Coffee County Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
