Obit: Herman Thiele Dies Suddenly. Herman H. Thiele, 74, of Long Lake township, died unexpectedly Thursday night at Munson hospital following a six weeks illness.
Mr. Thiel was born on December 13, 1878, the son of Conrad and Charlotte Thiele, at Eagle Lake in Will county, Illinois, the family later moving to Minnesota. He was united in marriage there to Pearl Benscoter, on October 14, 1903, and the couple moved to Michigan in 1918. Mrs. Thiele preceded him in death in 1932, and on July 21, 1951, he was married to Elizabeth Roe of Ohio.
Surviving are the widow and two children, Edmund of Muskegon and Shirley of New York, two brothers, William and Theodore of Watseka, Ill; and one sister, mrs. Sophie Hurling, also of Watseka.
The body was taken to the Weaver-Reynolds funeral home, where services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, with Rev. John I. Wright of Long Lake church officiating. Burial will be made in Long Lake cemetery (Traverse City Record Eagle, 20 March 1953, page 15, column 6).
