June K. Lucas, 82, of Yulee, FL, died Thursday, July 30th at the Life Center of Hilliard surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Lucas County, Ohio, she previously lived in Toledo, Ohio before moving to Fernandina Beach in 1956. During her working career, she was a witness at the Blue Seas, The Surf, and the Marina Restaurants. So many share such good memories of her kitchen filled with the aromas of homemade cakes, mouth-watering biscuits and fried chicken.

June was a member of Blackrock Baptist Church, and she worshiped her Lord and Savior there for many years.

Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Lucas, and she was laid to rest beside him in death.

Surivors include her fours son, Richard (Faye) Lucas of Yulee, Raymond ( Annette) Lucas, Billy (Patti) Keller and Larry (Leigh) Keller, daughter Nancy (Truman) Thompson, and sister, Norma Butler all of Fernandina Beach, brother Patrick Stutts of Texas, and sister Martha Mathews of Ohio. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many friends and the community, but all know that she is "Just Over In The Glory Land".

Funeral Services were Monday, August 3rd in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Bowen officiating, Rev. Casey Taylor leading prayer and Brother Matt Gingery was soloist. All were from Blackrock Baptist Church, Yulee, FL.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all the staff of Life Care Center for all their love, care and assistance to her and her family.
