She was born June 27, 1912, in Baldwin, to James M. and Iva Mae Mulvany Baker, and moved to Ottawa at an early age. She had lived in Lawrence since 1933. She worked at Lawrence Steam Laundry before she retired in 1974.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She married Melvin L. McClelland in 1933 in Ottawa. He died July 30, 1988.
Survivors include four sons, Delbert McClelland and Larry McClelland, both in Leavenworth, and LeRoy McClelland and Jim McClelland, both in Lawrence; a daughter, Virginia Boyd, Lawrence; 16 grandchildren ; 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great- grandchildren.
Mrs. McClelland will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
