Mattie Ella Everett, 100, a longtime Oak Ridge resident, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center.
She was born in Wilson County, Dec. 27, 1903. She was the widow of William S. Everett Sr., who died in 1983.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Richard Smith, William Smith, Willard Smith, Katie Judd and Verna Sary.
Mrs. Everett came to Oak Ridge in May of 1944, and was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
She is survived by her son, William S. Everett Jr. and wife, Nancy B., of Knoxville; her sister, Una Jennings of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, James Christopher Everett of Nashville, William Bryan Everett of Orland Park, Ill., Mark Stephen Everett of Alston, Ga., and Nancy Elizabeth Eubanks of Brownsville; her great-granddaughter, Samantha Everett of Hixson; and by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Bob Gray officiating.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 4, at the mortuary.
