Newton E. Lynch

A resident of Baton Rouge and a former resident of Lake of the Pines, Texas, he died Friday, June 6, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was 69 and an independent contractor in the power plant industry, a career which took him all over the world. He was a member of Amana Christian Fellowship in Maurice, where a memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 17, at 10 a.m. He is survived by his wife, Esther R. Lynch, of Baton Rouge; mother and stepfather, Anne Marie and Joe Smith, of Jefferson, Texas; son, U.S. Army Major Barrett Lynch, of El Paso, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole Lynch Henson and Jeff Henson, of Lewisville, Texas; stepchildren, Mike Miller and Harriet Jones, both of Baton Rouge, Leslie Lonidier, of Waxahachie, Texas, and Mona DeLatin, of Brusly; and sister, Patricia Lynch Smith, of Jefferson. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Ava Nicole Henson; eight stepgrandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Swanson N. Lynch. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed traveling in his RV. When he was able, he enjoyed water and snow skiing.
