The funeral took place from the resident Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Rev. S. Benson of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. The interment was at Lakeside Cemetery.
The deceased was born in Shiawassee County and the early part of his life was spent on a farm. He moved to Detroit where he engaged in the grocery business until burned out, when he was appointed a deputy sheriff and acted as a peace officer for many years. He came to this city in 1881 and but for a short absence when he lived in Marquette was a resident of this city ever since.
He is survived by a widow.
