GROUT PIONEER'S RITES THURSDAY
John B. Gedney, 87, passed away at the Howard Gedney home October 25. The son of James and Matilda Gedney, he was born in St. Clair county, August 17, 1867. He came to Gladwin county with his parents in 1872 by way of a scow up the Tittabawassee river from Midland and settled on a farm in Grout township which he helped clear and where he remained throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. Truman Lowell officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 10-27/1954 Column - 8 Page - 1
