Marie MACK CAMERON SLENTZ, 85 of Mapleton Died suddenly Saturday, December 2, 1980, at her home of an apparent heart attack.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton with the Rev. John Brennan officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation after 2:00 p. m. Monday with the rosary recited by St. Mary's Guild at 3:30 p. m. and by the parish at 8:00 p. m. in Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton, IA.
Mrs. Slentz, the former Marie Mack, was born 28 January 1904, to Dominic Mack and Mary (Erpelding) Mack in Atchison, Kansas, and came to the Mapleton community as a child with her parents. She married Lyle Cameron February 1, 1921, at Mapelton. The couple farmed in the Danbury and Mapleton area. He died in June, 1965 and she moved to Mapleton at that time. She married Clarence Slentz, May 6, 1971. He died November 18, 1978.
Mrs. Slentz was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ladies Guild, Royal Neighbors, Mapleton Civic Club and ARN Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Dorothy) Lindley of Ute, IA. and Mrs. Harry (Carol)Mindup of Omaha; Four sons, Earl Cameron of Danbury, Russell and Charles Cameron, both of Omaha, NE. and Clarence of Tupelo, Mississippi; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gilbert and Irvan, both of San Marcos, California, and four sisters, Mrs. Carl (Bernice) Burson of Arizona and Mris I. J. (Valerie) Rosse, Mrs. Catherine Anderson and Mrs. Wally (Rita) Demorie, all of San Marcos, California.
She proceeded in death by her parents; two husbands, a son, Jerry; a sister and a brother.
