WEIGELSTOWN - Clair E. Goodwin, 66, of Weigelstown, died at 3:10 a.m. Friday at his home. He was the husband of Grace M. (Dentler) Goodwin.
The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will be in Dover Union Cemetery, with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Goodwin was born in Dover Township. He was the son of Harry E. Goodwin of Dover and the late Catharine (Beck) Goodwin.
He was a machinist helper at Precision Components Co., retiring in 1989 after 30 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked part time as a deliveryman for Jordan's Furniture. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, the Dover Fire Company, the Dover Township Fire Company, the Dover Area Ambulance Club, the West Manchester Fish & Game Association.
He was a member of the Viking Athletic Association, the Prince Athletic Association, the Shiloh American Legion Post 791
the 13th Ward Club, the Spike Buck Hunting Club, Clinton County, the National Rifle Association, the West Manchester Mall Walkers Club and the Galleria Mall Walkers Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as a gunner's mate third class in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Goodwin also is survived by a son, Ricky E. Goodwin of Mount Wolf; two daughters, Cheryl E. Cavanaugh of Dover, and Linda D. Lehman of Loganville; four grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Goodwin of Thomasville, and Glenn Goodwin of Moorehead City, N.C.; and a sister, Fay Adams of York.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. David J. Kovach and the Rev. Richard L. Ehrhart, pastor of Barrens Lutheran Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Calvary Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 144, Dover, 17315. 10-23-92
