Bonnie Gibbons Davidson Jan. 26, 1921 — Aug. 8, 2009 Bonnie Gibbons Davidson, 88, of Duncan, passed Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at her home in Duncan, after a long illness.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tracy Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Duncan Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.She was born on Jan. 26, 1921, in Duncan, the daughter of Fred and Roxie Jones Gibbons. She married John Parks Davidson on Aug. 30, 1941, in Ryan. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1997.In her early years, Bonnie worked at the Dime Store, and as a receptionist and assistant to Arthur Massey, optometrist. Later, becoming a mother and homemaker, her family and church family were her major priorities.She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, listed on the Cradle Roll, a Sunday School leader, and active in the Women of the Church, visiting and the Prayer Chain. Bonnie also served as a deacon and an elder. She and Johnen joyed their work in Christians Concerned, shopping and stocking the pantry, and helping with Meals on Wheels. They also enjoyed gardening.Survivors include two daughters: Sherry Duncan and her husband, Dwight, and Robin Caldwell, and a sister, Marguerite English, all of Duncan; four grandchildren: Daron Duncan, Sheryl Duncan, Craig Caldwell and Chris Caldwell; and nine great-grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Jean Levy and Ruth Brown; and a brother, Q.D. Gibbons.Bearers will be Charles Coker, Dan Flanders, Jerry Fleming, Jack Munn, Walter Herrin and Paul "Shorty" Brown. Honorary bearers are Bob Hofmann, Gordon Demerson and Cy Jeffords.In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made in Bonnie's name to The First Presbyterian Church; 704 West Ash; Duncan, OK 73533.Online condolences may be made at www.granthamfuneralhomes.com.
