NEW ALBANY TRIBUNE OBITUARY – 10/15/2003
Funeral services for Hazel Irene Miller Rose, 90, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at the home of her daughter. She was born Jan. 1, 1913 in Floyd County to Clarence and Mabel Miller. She was a graduate of New Albany High School and the old New Albany Business College. She was a retired seamstress for the old H.A. Seinsheimer's Co. and a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Union. She was a member of LaBelle Chapter 419 O.E.S. and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Ann Kochert and her husband Larry and Laura Jackson and her husband Ronald; grandchildren, Deborah Ruby and her husband Jody, Lawrence Joseph "Jody" Kochert, Rose Bensenhaver and her husband Todd, Brian Wade Jackson; great-grandchildren Angela and Timberly Cooke, Alexandrea Reed, Shane Jackson and Lara Wilkins; a sister, Edna Mae Hunt, Fon Du Lac., Wis.; step-grandchildren, Donald Jackson, Vikke McClure and Travis Jackson; and step-great-grandchildren, David McClure and Melissa McClure. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.S. "Doc" Rose, and her sister, Edith Ward. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Foundation and Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.

Hazel Irene Miller Rose, 90, passed away Tuesday at her daughter's home. She was born January 1, 1913, in Floyd County, IN, to Clarence and Mabel Miller. She was a graduate of New Albany High School and the old New Albany Business College. She was a retired seamstress for the old H.A. Seinsheimer's Company, a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Union, LaBelle Chapter #419, Order of the Eastern Star and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.S. "Doc" Rose and her sister, Edith Ward. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann Kochert and her husband Larry and Laura Jackson and her husband Ronald; grandchildren, Deborah Ruby and her husband Jody, Lawrence Joseph "Jody" Kochert, Rose Bensenhaver and her husband Todd and Brian Wade Jackson; great-grand-children, Angela and Timberly Cooke, Alexandrea Reed, Shane Jackson and Lara Wilkins; sister, Edna Mae Hunt of Fon du Lac, WI; step-grandchildren, Donald Jackson, Vikke McClure and Trevis Jackson; and step-great-grandchildren, David and Melissa McClure.
