In the Bible that my grandmother Georgia Mae Poff Johnson kept, the date is recorded as 8 Mar 1939 and there was a funeral bill for the casket and services - $30.00.

Many, many years after the death and burial of this child; many, many years even after the deaths of his parents - his sisters wanted to be sure that his grave would have a marker. As a matter of fact, he had 2 older brothers who had also died, one of them, Guy Mack "Junior" Johnson, Jr., was there in the old cemetery with him and Guy Mack Jr. also had a unmarked grave. So sisters Jacqueline and Inez; (Jackie and Butch), contacted a monument company there in the area - Keith Monuments in London, KY.
And Jackie and Butch contacted some more cousins of theirs, Pete and John A.; the children of George and Nora Hubbard Johnson, to ask about the possibility of them also placing a stone for a sibling of theirs also. By ordering all at the same time, with the same design and having all the stones set at the same time, there would be a savings factor.
And one day I received a call from my brother Drew asking if I knew a Guy Mack Johnson and if I did just who was Guy Mack Johnson?
I told him that it would depend upon WHICH one he was referring to; it could be our grandfather, our uncle or our cousin. I also asked if he had any specific dates of reference and why such an odd question?
And he told me that a design work order had come to him from the London, KY office of Keith Monument for that name and 2 other infant markers.
While Aunt Jackie and Aunt Butch knew Drew worked for Keith Monument, they didn't know that HE would be the designer for all 3 of those stone.
