Elizabeth S. "Lizzie" JOHNSON Stone, was the daughter of Colonel James M. & Elizabeth JOHNSON Johnson. Lizzie married Stephen Robert Stone before 1870 and they are found living in War Eagle Township on the 1870 census, with Stephen listed as a "dry goods merchant". It is believed that Lizzie died in childbirth. Her tombstone is a very, very tall beautiful one. (The picture posted here was taken shortly after the 2009 ice storm that hit Madison County, and there were numerous limbs from a cedar tree covering Lizzie's tombstone) The epitaph on Lizzie's tombstone reads "The sweet remembrance of the just, Shall flourish while she sleeps in rest"
