(FIVE POINTS) Mrs. Bainor Duffie Cash, 94, of Five Points, formerly of Valley, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at her residence.
Services were Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 4 p.m. EDT at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point, Ga., with the Rev. Rusty Williams officiating. Burial followed at Shawmut Cemetery in Lanett.
Mrs. Cash is survived by one granddaughter, Angela (Jerry) Smith of Stroud; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Homer Duffie of Opelika.
Born Oct. 20, 1914, in Randolph County, Mrs. Cash was the daughter of the late Mary Gowers Duffie and the late Thomas "Tommie" Duffie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Watson Cash; her daughter, Mary Janice Cumbee; three brothers, Clarence Duffie, Henry Duffie and Perry Duffie; and two sisters, Mollie Stafford and Kermit Cavender. Mrs. Cash was active in Shawmut First Baptist Church, where she was secretary of her Sunday school class. She retired from Shawmut Mill after 26 years and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Cash loved to garden and loved flowers.
