Mrs. Coral Allen, wife of Len Allen, passed away at her home in Corning, Friday morning. The funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon, conducted by Mrs. Trusty, a Christian Science reader from Creston, assisted by the wife of the Methodist Minister in Creston, as musician. Burial was made in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The Eastern Star ceremony was given at the grave.
Mrs. Allen's maiden name was Crow, and she was a daughter of George Crow and wife, former residents of this county. She was born in Adams County and resided in this community all her life. Twenty-eight years ago, she was married to Len M. Allen. The funeral services were held on the date of her wedding anniversary, Sunday. To them was born one child, a son named Lauren, who died on March 31 1926.
Mrs. Allen leaves four sisters and a brother, besides the husband to mourn her departure. They are Mrs. Willard Walton, of Council Bluffs; Mrs. F. G. White, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mrs. Louis Shaw, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Ray Williams, Neosho, Missouri, and Charles E Crow, Massena, Iowa. They were all present at the funeral services, except Mrs. Shaw. In addition other relatives
from out of town were: Barney Cavanaugh, wife and daughter, of Atlantic, an uncle of Mrs. Allen; Miss winifred Roberts of Whitmore, Iowa, a cousin of Mrs. Allen.
Before her illness, Mrs. Allen was an especially capable lady, taken an active part in the social and club affairs of the city. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the W. R. C., and the Spanish American Auxiliary, and all were represented at the funeral services. Mrs. Allen will be greatly missed by many friends and associates.
