WILFRED P ELLIS, 87, of Cocoa, FL died at home - he was the son of Wilfred A and Agnes Ellis. Wilfred grew up in Cape Cod, ME, was a retired, 25 year, SMSGT in the U.S. Air Force serving in WWII, Korean Conflict, Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War. He received a special commendation for his participation in the Cuban Missile Crisis awarded to him by President John F Kennedy. Retiring from the military, Wilfred was employed by RCA Company as the navigator, tracking missiles from his last assignment on the USNS General Vandenberg. Surviving are children: Marshall, Keith, Matthew (Mona), Gail (Alfred) Danforth, Denice (Raymond) Beans and Melanie Ellis of Cocoa; brothers, Richard (Buzzie) and Jerald both of Cocoa, Hugh of Hyannis, MA; Carroll of College Park, MD and sisters, Connie Ellis and Marsha Wilber of Harwich Port, MA and Marie Fernandes of S Yarmouth, MA; grandchildren and great-grandchildrenl He was was preceded in death by daughters, Julie and Mary Ellis; brother, Ronald Ellis and granddaughter, Grace Elijah.
