Strother Ball was the son of William Ball and Letitia nee Smith Ball. He was married to 1. Rebecca Stephens dau of Peter Stephens 2. Mahalia Mahala Unknown. He lived in Madison Co., IL where he was a messenger for the Free Will Baptist church. He later moved to Clinton Co. Mo. and on to Denton county Tx around mid 1850's. He was buried in the Old Ball cemetery. This cemetery was relocated to the Old Hall cemetery near Lewisville Tx. Gravesite Details

Grave was moved from Old Ball Cemetery in 1953 to make room for reservoir. According to Bob Leahy who searched the cemetery in 2009 the location where Strother Ball is buried is a large empty area in the eastern section. The grave is unmarked.
