I met Mac in 1957 when we were both assigned to the 72d Air Police Squadron, Ramey AFB in Puerto Rico. He was an Air Policeman and I was clerk in Air Police Squardon training office which was located in a hanger on the flight line. Mac was a S/SGT and I was an A/2C. Mac had strawberry blond hair and it was beautiful. Mac's name was on my bucket list and it took me too long to find him again. I last saw him in 1962. I recently learned of his death. He was a good and kind man. Very difficult for me to apologize to a dead man. I cannot ask Mac to forgive me. I made some terrible choices and Mac was the one who suffered from them. So meita,I do sincerely apologize to you for everything. You were a good person!! I hope you were happy in your new life with a new wife and new baby girl.
Mac played the guitar and was in a group that made a record that sounded pretty good. His favorite music was country western.

Our special thanks to Mr. Schulz, owner of Cotrell Funeral Services of Poplar Bluff for providing the picture of Mac's headstone.

Martin Solveig, composer - A GOOD MAN "When I'm gone, I wanna leave a legacy of love and laughs and honesty behind me . . . I wanna be the one when all is said and done, who lived a good life, loved a goood wife, and always helped someone in trouble, on the day they lay me down. Want everyone to gather 'round and say he was a father, brother, neighbor and a friend. He was a good man."
