My dad was one of the sweetest men I have ever known. Always taking care of others and never met a stranger. He lived a good clean life, loved fishing, cooking, and taking food to others. My dad was born during the great depression with four siblings and his mother. His father was killed when he was just two years old. My dad had a hard life but never went hungry for my grandmother always kept a garden and everyone worked from the time they were just very small. On May the 7th my dad experienced a mild heart attack and was transferred to Memorial hospital in Chattannooga TN. On May the 13th he went in for quadropple by-pass surgery. Everyone thought the surgery went well until my dad didnot wake up. This is when a MRI was run and it was discovered that he had multiple strokes during his surgery. My dad remained on the vent because the strokes had affected the part of the brain that affects breathing. On June the 1st my dad was transferred to Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga where he continued to make progress until he became ill with pneumonia. On July the 21st my dad was taken off the ventilator at his request. He told us he was ready to go home to see the Lord. He survived 8 hours off the vent and finially lost his fight at 0245 on July 22 with all his family around him. He will be sadley missed by many people and his family will never forget his loving spirit and all the people he helped.
I will never forget you daddy and will see you again someday.
