He married Miss Nancy J. Cram of Brownfield, ME, Dec. 25, 1852.
He help pastorates is several places in Maine, and lived several years in Lewiston. His oldest son, Prof. James R. Brackett, is of the Colorado Univ; The oldest daughter is a teacher in the Classical Institute at Hallowell, ME. and the second daughter is Librarian of the Spear Library of Oberlin College, OH. These three were graduates of Bates College of Lewiston, ME.
