Mrs. Fleming was educated in the Norman schools and received a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Oklahoma. She, also, did post-graduate work at the University of Colorado and the Art Colony Castle Hill in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Her work has been exhibited in many museums and art shows including the White House and Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. and the University of Oklahoma Art School Museum. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Norman Art League serving as president from 1947 to 1963. A member of the Association of Oklahoma Artists, she served as treasurer in 1940. Mrs. Fleming's other memberships include Southern States Arts League and the Oklahoma Art Center. She was active in the Camp Fire Girls, Christian Women's Council, and the Norman Regional Hospital Auxiliary. During World War II, Mrs. Fleming received the badge for meritorious service for 1000 hours with the USO. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church. Mrs. Fleming is survived by her seven nieces and nephews, Beth Floyd Kane, Eloise Floyd Schrempp, Birdie Floyd Green, Ben G. Floyd, Richard V. Floyd, DeArmon L. Floyd, and Donovan H. Floyd. She is, also, survived survived by twenty loving grandnieces and nephews and thirteen great-grand nieces and nephews.
