Mrs. Abby Parsons, of the Old Dallas Community, died Wednesday afternoon in the Polk County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Friday in the Beasley-Wood chapel with Rev. A. G. Ascott, and Rev. J. D. Webb officiating. Interment was in Center Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Casketbearers were Carrol Blanton, James Counts, Hal Boyette, David Parsons, Seldon Parsons, Richard Parsons.
Born Dec. 17, 1884, at Hartley, she was 87 years old.
Mrs. Parsons was the daughter of the late Richard Carter, and Missouri McMillon Carter, and had been a resident of the Shady Lake area for many years, before moving to the Old Dallas community several years ago. She was united in marriage to William S. Parsons on January 18, 1902, at Hartley. Mr. Parsons preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1968.
Survivors are: C. G. Parsons of Umpire, Walter Parsons of Fort Smith and Neb Parsons of Austin, Texas; four daughters Mrs. O. L. Baber of Mena, Mrs. C. C. Barnes of Fort Smith, Mrs. G. N. Cox of Baytown, Texas, and Mrs. H. K. Boyette of Fort Smith; and 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
