Evelyn Starks

Vancouver, Wash. - Evelyn M. Starks, 92, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Southwest Medical Center, Vancouver, Wash.
Mrs. Starks was born March 15, 1916, in Peoria, the daughter of George W. and Ethel Marie Parlier. She married Elmus Starks on April 26, 1942, in Walnut.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Soderlund of Vancouver, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Janice Thompson of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister, Marilyn (Norman) Reser of Temple, Texas; a brother, Milford Parlier of Peoria; two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Church of Nazarene, Sterling, with the Revs. Bob Hasslebring and Dennis Frey co-officiating. Burial is at Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Local arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to First Church of the Nazarene, Children's ministry.
