Arlene Marie Johnston, 69, of Tekonsha, died, on Saturday, August 1,
2009 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Johnston was born on January 9, 1940, in Convis Township, to
Richard C. and Josephine Mae (Scott) Fuller Sr. She graduated from
Marshall High School in 1958.
She married Roy T. Johnson in 1958. Their marriage ended in divorce.
On December 11, 1965, she married James F. Johnston in Burlington. He
preceded her in death on January 9, 2003.
Mrs. Johnston worked as a waitress at the Hill Crest Truck Stop in
Marshall for over 30 years. After she retired, she worked part time at
Sally's Country Store. Mrs. Johnston was a member of the Union City
Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School,
and helped with the church youth group. She enjoyed going to the
Gospel Barn in Hillsdale, and going to the Tibet's Opera House in
Coldwater.
Mrs. Johnston was an avid gardener, and enjoyed canning, and sharing
her produce with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a
kind and caring person who would always help anyone in need.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Dennis) Bukoski, of
Tekonsha, two sons, Roy T. Johnson II of Tekonsha, William "Bill"
(Norma Jean) Johnson of Warrior, Alabama, four grandchildren, three
step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived
by four sisters Audrey (Duane) Parker of Atlanta, Michigan, Judy
Hoag-Crapo, Brenda (Dorr) Bugbee all of Battle Creek, Darla Goodman of
Morristown, Tennessee a brother David Fuller of Augusta Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Barbara
Adams, and a brother Richard Fuller II.
Funeral services celebrating her life took place on Wednesday, August
5, 2009, at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Wheeler
officiating. Interment followed at Porter Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oaklawn Hospice.
