Walter Joseph "Joe" Rohrer was born on May 30, 1918 in Tennessee, and he was the son of Charlie R Rohrer (1876–1976) and Susie (Demonbreun) Rohrer (1880–1959).
He was married in 1944 as the 1st husband of Dorothy "Dottie" Capps (1927–2018), and the daughter of Searcy Neeld Capps (1894–1984) and Selma Augusta (Stenberg) Capps (1896–1965). Joe and Dottie were later divorced, and Dottie was married 2nd to Richard Donald Harttung (1933–2001).
A steel worker living out of Ashland City on Rural Route 3, but in Davidson County, Tennessee, Walter was 48 years old when he died of lung cancer on December 10, 1966 at Saint Thomas Hospital, where he had been for six weeks. Burial was in Rohrer Family Cemetery, Davidson County.
