Henry John Perraut was set to be a priest until he met Elizabeth (Betty) Doan. He married her in Paris, Kentucky, and returned to Kuna to have a farm and raise a family of 3 daughters, Anne Perraut Davis, Henrietta Perraut Young, and Deloris Carrie Perraut Kern.

Henry loved animals and was known to bring home a stray dog, cat, or even a bear! He had a soft spot for his daughters, often spoiling them with treats and gifts when he could. Deloris would climb into the back of her father's car and hide until he got to town, where he would buy her ice cream and bring her back home, hoping she'd keep their treat a secret. While the family never had much in the way of money, he bought his daughter, Henrietta, a porcelain doll when he felt she might of pneumonia at the age of 4. Luckily, she recovered and lived for many years. He was a kind-hearted, gentle man who would have done anything to make his family happy.

Henry died at a rather young age after falling and mistreating his pneumonia and head injuries with drink. He passed away just before meeting his first grandchild from his middle daughter, Henrietta. His contagious smile and laughter are greatly missed.
