Ulysses H. Grider, 51, of 4625 Hillside Drive, died Sunday [June 20, 1982] at Baptist Hospital East. He was a native of Tennessee and a foreman at Louisville Gas & Electric Co. Survivors include his wife, the former Joyce Gathof; three sons, Don, Dennis & Steve Grider; three stepsons, Paul, Larry & Terry Borders; two stepdaughters, Michelle & Lisa Borders; his mother, Mrs. Effice Grider; five brothers, Fred B. Grider Jr. of St. Augustine, FL, Paul T. Grider of Elkhart, IN, Eddie, John & Robert Grider; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hardin of Benton and Mrs. Mary Fisher; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Arch L. Heady Southern Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Mausoleum. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Lupus Foundation.
