Lucille Carmen Adams Snapp, 93, widow of William R. Snapp to whom she was married for 69 years, formerly of Winchester passed away on Sat., April 4, 2009 at her daughter's home in Waco, KY. She was born in Paint Lick, KY on Sept. 21, 1915 to the late William Thomas and Martha Susan Ross Adams. Mrs. Snapp was a homemaker, worked at J.J. Newberry for many years and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. She was very proud to be the matriarch of 5 generations of her family.

Survivors include a son, Clarence Thomas (Dixie) Snapp of Lancaster; two daughters, Loretta (Arthur) VanWinkle of Berea and Ruth (James) Bowling of Waco; seven grandchildren, Karen Greayer, Carmen Hampton, Jack Bowling, William Snapp, Charles Bowling, Arthur VanWinkle Jr., and Tracey Hurt; 3 great grandchildren, Jessica Fox, Zachary Hampton, and Nicholas Bowling; several step great grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter, Mackenna Mae Fox. Whe was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Lee VanWinkle, 4 brothers, and 7 sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Phillip Ronk. Burial will be in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Snapp's grandsons will serve as pallbearers and her granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at Scobee Funeral Home.
