Mrs. Martha Bond

Mrs. Martha Etta Tyler Bond of Winona died suddenly of a heart attack while visiting her son, R.L. Burns in Schlater. She had been in falling health for the past few years. She died on her 72nd birthday which was on Oct. 24th.

She was born near Carmack in Attala Co. & lived in that county more than 60 years. For the past 7 years she had made her home with her daughter. Mrs. Percy Moore, in Montgomery Co. She was a member of the Pierce Chapel Methodist Church, 7 miles North of Kosciusko. Funeral rites were conducted by the Baptist & Methodist pastors of Schlater. Interment followed in the Providence cemetery near Carmack.

She is survived by her husband. A.O. Bond & the following children:
R.L. Burns, Shlater; Clyde Bond, Greenwood: Steve Bond. Winona; Mrs. Pearl Houston of Stanton, Tenn.; Mrs. Hazel Moore of Winona: the following stepchildren surviving are:
J.C. Bond, Kilmichael: Mrs T.J. Montague. Itta Bena Mrs J.C. Hambrick. Vaiden; W.P. Bond, Memphis; Mrs. Walter Barrett, New Harmony, Ink,: Barney Bond. Greenwood: Mrs. Walter Braswell, Crossett, Ark.; The following sisters & brothers of the deceased are. Mrs Ella Warton. Columbus: Mrs. Jessie Goss, Vaiden; Mrs. Ida Goss, Darling ; Brent Tyler, Vaiden & Van Tyler of Memphis.

She leaves 43 grandchildren & 34 great-grandchildren.
