She temporarily leaves behind her husband, a brother, Russell T. (wife-Margaret) Clifton of Oxford, Indiana, her four children, ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, along with a host of relatives and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Raymond Clifton of Boswell, Indiana, a sister, Thelma Clifton and beloved son-in-law, Henry Grant Ashcraft.
She was a lifelong homemaker and 18 year employee of Somerset City Hospital (Lake Cumberland Regional) in Somerset, Kentucky.
In her twenties, she was saved and baptized, becoming a lifelong member of White Oak Baptist Church but recognizing that all who knew Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior were her brothers and sisters. Marie was a perfect example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Her worth was far more than rubies, and worked hard providing for her husband and children. Her lamp never went out by night. Many times she extended her hand to the poor and reached out to the needy. She was full of wisdom and in her tongue was the law of kindness. Her husband, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all who knew her called her blessed.
In her life, she was actively engaged in activities for the Lord, taking care of her family and others, farming with her husband, being active in local Homemaker and school organizations. Due to working on the family farm, in her youth, she was unable to continue her education. In her forties, she returned to school earned her GED and then trained to be a medical ward secretary.
She is now enjoying the fruit of her labor and her works are being praised in the gates as she returns to the Lord the Crown of glory in which He bestowed upon her. She now has the opportunity to stand before the Lord in true praise as was her heart's desire to do so while here on the earth.

THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF MARIE,
If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear, Though you may not understand why I'm no longer there. Remember my spirit, that is the real me because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free. Oh, if you could only see!
I have held our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand. All of Heaven's angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land. Beyond the gates of pearl I've walked on the golden streets.
I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare, I've even seen our Lords mansion and someday I'll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because "His Word" will show you the way. So please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
