George Garrison Dies Wednesday
George Ervin Garrison, 79, died at the Christie convalescent home at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. His home had been on Rt. I for 38 years.
He was born in Butler county July 12, 1874 to William and Emma Garrison. He married Lillian Jarvis Mar. 21, 1901 at Gifford. He was a retired farmer and factory worker.
Surviving are three sons Glen and Arthur of Cedar Falls and Robert of Waterloo, three daughters, Mrs. Laura Fletcher, Mrs. Thomas Hardwich and Mrs. Arnim Griffith all of Cedar Falls. 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. His wife died in 1926. Five brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Nelson funeral home with Rev. Lloyd Holm officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. The body is at the Nelson funeral home.
