CHAMBERS, MARY ELIZABETH - was born in Scott County, Tenn., October 24, 1886, deceased this life September 15, 1968 at the age 81 years 10 months and 21 days. She was the daughter of the late LEWIS THOMPSON and the late MELDA BLAKLEY Thompson. She united in marriage with GEORGE W. CHAMBERS and 9 children were born to this union. One child preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, GEORGE W. CHAMBERS of Huntsville, five daughters, Mrs. MAGIE GEORGE, Mrs. GLADYS CROSS, both of McAllen Texas, Mrs. ALTA SEXTON of Oneida, Mrs. BETTY SHARP of Huntsville, Mrs. MARGARET JEFFERS of Knoxville. Three sons, MILFORD and HERBERT CHAMBERS of Huntsville, RAY CHAMBERS of Oak Ridge. One brother, JERRY THOMPSON of Huntsville one sister, Mrs. MARTHA HARRINGTON MACKEY of Iowa City, Iowa. She also leaves 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Early in life she professed faith in Christ and united with the Paint Rock United Baptist Church where she remained a member until the time of her death. Blessed are the dead that died in the Lord.
