Henry Harrison "Harry" Malin was the son of G. Washington Malin and Mary B. Youart. He married Viola Alice Stalter on 8 Aug 1878 at Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County, Ohio. About 1886, the family relocated to Walnut, Bureau County, Illinois, where he spent the remaining years of his life.
There is some discrepancy regarding his date of birth, as shown in his obituary and the inscription on his gravestone. The date of 26 Jul 1855 was recorded in the family Bible kept by his mother, Mary B. (Youart) Malin.
Following the death of his wife in 1888, his family was broken apart, and all his children went to live with other families, except for his daughter, Zula, who remained with him until her marriage at age 18 in 1898.

Harry Malin, Called at Age of Eighty-three; Services Held Wednesday
Harry H. Malin, resident of Walnut since 1886, died at his home Sunday, December 26, 1937, at 12:40 p.m., after a short illness, at the age of eighty-three years and five months.
Funeral services were held December 29, 1937, at 1:30 p.m. from the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Arthur Bohm. Rev. Roy Ford, pastor of the Christian church, officiated. Burial was made in Walnut cemetery. Mrs. I. T. Tower sand two hymns, "Shall We Gather at the River" and "Some Day We'll Understand" accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Epperson.
The deceased was the son of Washington and Mary B. Malin, and was born in McAlisterville, Pa., July 26, 1854. He was united in marriage to Miss Viola Stalter August 10, 1877. He has made his home in Walnut since 1886. During his active years he followed the painter's trade. He was a member of the Baptist church since 1894.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Zula Parlier, formerly of Walnut, now of Sheffield; two sons, Harry Krebs, of Walnut, and Earl Stafford, now of Kansas City, Mo; one sister, Anna Chandler, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Alfred Malin, of Pueblo, Colorado; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
Mrs. Cecil Bond, a granddaughter, and Mrs. Florence Smeltzer of Springfield, Ill., attended the funeral.
