Held Saturday Afternoon at Undertaking Parlor - Laid to Rest in Walnut Cemetery
Short services for Corb Malin were held at the Ross Undertaking Parlors, Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. A. J. Bishop, pastor of the M. E. church. Burial was made in Walnut cemetery.
Mr. Malin had been a patient at the Moline State Hospital for the past two years, but his condition was not thought to be critical. When the word came that he had passed away at 6 a.m. May 30th, it was a shock to relatives and friends here.
Corbett C. Malin, son of Mary B. and Washington Malin, was born at McAlisterville, Pennsylvania, February 10, 1868, and died May 30, 1935, at the age of sixty-seven years, three months and twenty days. He spent his early life on a farm with his parents until 1887 when he came to Walnut. Here he made his home, until two years ago, when he entered the hospital for treatment.
Mr. Malin was on of a family of eight children, four of whom preceded him in death. Those who are left to mourn his death are two brothers, Harry H. of Walnut and Al of Pueblo, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Susanna Chandler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, also a host of relatives and friends.
