"Funeral Rites For Ernest G. Parlier
Held At Chapel June 3rd
Walnut Man Summoned at the Princeton Hospital Monday A.M., June 1

Funeral services for Ernest G. Parlier were held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Ross Funeral Home, with Dr. W. T. Street, pastor of the Walnut Methodist church, officiating. Hymns were sung by Mrs. H. E. Bolz and Miss Joan Ross. Casket bearers were J. T. Frederick, Milton O. Mattes, Frank Bourquin, R. E. Fogt, E. A. Gilchrist and J. B. McCarthy. Interment was in Walnut cemetery.
Ernest Guy Parlier, the son of William Allen and Alice Weeks Parlier, was born April 12, 1886, in Decatur, Illinois, and passed away at the Princeton hospital June 1st, after a serious illness of but a few weeks.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two sisters, Grace and Gertie, and one brother, William. Surviving him are two brothers , Geo. of Walnut, and Fred of Peoria; two half-brothers, Harold of Walnut, and Thomas of Rock Falls; also two half-sister, Mildred of Douds, Iowa, and Mrs. Mattie Berkmeier of Pekin, Illinois.
He came to reside in Walnut in 1909, and was married to Zula Malin on July 18, 1918. His wife preceded him in death in February, 1941.
Mr. Parlier was employed as janitor of the First State Bank Building at the time of his last illness."
