Millicent D. "Boots" Sunderland, 77 of Monroe, died at home. She had been in poor health for the last year and seriously ill one month.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe where a scripture service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. She will lie in state at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be at 10 A.M. The Rev. Stephen Vileo, pastor of the church will officiate. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.
Born June 18, 1932 in White Lake, Wisconsin she was the daughter of Robert and Bertha (Choate) Royce. She married William J. Sunderland April 11, 1953 in Waukegan, Illinois.
A homemaker, Boots was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She enjoyed golfing and traveling.
Surviving is her husband of 56 years, William J. Sunderland of Monroe; two sons, Scott (Laura) Sunderland of Harbor Beach, Michigan and William (Gail) Sunderland, III of Monroe; two daughters, Lisa (Frank) Wszelaki of Monroe and Lori (David) Cousino of Monroe; a brother, Dennis (Geraldine) Royce of Mohawk, Michigan; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and six sisters.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
