Phyllis Jean Stowell, 81, of Tomah, died Jan. 1, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. She was born Aug. 8, 1924, to Fred and LaVergne (Bruins) Cuenot in the Town of Glendale on the home farm. She was united in marriage to William Garrity, who was then killed at Normandy, 10 days after their marriage. She was united in marriage to Milton "Bud" Stowell on Jan. 24, 1947. She was an avid bowler and a member of the 600 Club. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a sister, Lois (Floyd) Cook of Tomah; two nieces, Joyce (Kevin) Witt of Marshfield and Judy Fischer of La Crosse; a nephew, Donald (Candace) Cook of Warrens, and a sister-in-law, Harriet Rizner of Tomah.

In addition to her parents, both her husbands preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Pastor Fred Fedke officiated. Relatives and friends called at the funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
