Violet E. Gertz died Oct. 11, 2001, at age 79.

Miss Gertz was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Portland. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and was a

floral designer, including for Tommy Luke, she retired in 1987. Miss Gertz lived in Portland from 1922 till 1985. Survivors include her brother, Edwin W. Gertz. Private service. Remembrances to Peace Lutheran Church in Portland. Arrangements by Bateman Funeral Home in Newport.
