A gloom of sorrow was cast over our community Wednesday night when it was announced that Mrs. J.W. Veal was dead. Mr. Veal and wife had visited a sick neighbor and returned home about 11 o'clock when Mrs. Veal was taken ill with heart trouble and died in a short time. The deceased was about 47 years old. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and lived a devouted christian life. She leaves a husband and seven children. Her sad demise is lamented by many. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Taylor Sheppard at Hillabahatchee Thursday afternoon. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.
